SAP Basis Basics Part 5
Reset SAP transport status
Transportation is an essential part of the SAP environment and is part of daily business in the areas of customizing and development. An SAP transport with several participants and therefore several transport tasks is not uncommon. But how do you deal with this if a transport task was released incorrectly or content is recorded and released in an incorrect transport request? The transport task is blocked by the release and can no longer be removed from the transport order. You may also want to delete the entire transport order. You will also be denied this option once tasks have been released in SAP Transport. The standard procedures are very complicated and not only cost a lot of time, but also have a certain risk potential.
If this sounds familiar to you, the following trick will make your work easier at this point.
As standard, SAP delivers a report that is used for exactly these scenarios, namely report RDDIT076.
In the first step, start the report using transaction SA38. You will then be taken to a selection screen where you can enter the transport order or transport task.
After you have confirmed your entry, you will be taken to an overview page. Here you can individually mark the entries you want to change and view the details. Now switch to editing mode and, for example, change the status to undo the release. Finally, confirm and save the changes. Of course, the other properties of the (SAP transport) order can also be changed using this report.
